Following the completion of the investigation, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kumanovo today filed an indictment against a 25-year-old resident of Staro Nagoričane suspected of committing four criminal offenses of Murder under Article 123 paragraph 2 item 4 of the Criminal Code, as well as two attempted murders of the same qualified form.
Because he intentionally deprived multiple persons of their lives, pursuant to Article 123 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code, he faces a prison sentence of at least 10 years or life imprisonment.
According to expert examinations conducted during the investigation, he committed the acts out of other base motives, namely with the intention of satisfying his sexual urges towards deceased female bodies.
Thus, during the night between 05.01.2025 and 06.01.2025 in the village of Klečovce, he intentionally deprived an elderly and helpless woman of her life. He entered her house and, while she was asleep on the bed, physically attacked her and violently began to suffocate her. Due to the numerous fractures and injuries which prevented her from breathing, the woman died.
In an exactly undetermined period between 05.06.2025 and 07.06.2025 in the village of Dragomance, he intentionally deprived another woman of her life in a similar manner.
The third incident was recorded on 22.07.2025 in the village of Čelopek, where he attempted to kill a woman who managed to frighten him by calling out for her son, after which the accused fled.
During the evening hours between 17.01.2026 and 18.01.2026 in the village of Staro Nagoričane, the accused intentionally deprived a woman of her life. She was younger than the previous victims, but he also knew that she was alone. The manner in which the crime was committed was similar to that used against the previous victims.
In the village of Čelopek, during the evening hours between 05.02.2026 and 06.02.2026, the accused deprived another elderly and helpless victim of her life.
The last recorded incident occurred on 09.02.2026 in the village of Čelopek, where he intentionally attempted to kill another woman, but became frightened by a sound he heard and fled before carrying out his intention.
The public prosecutor also submitted a proposal to the pre-trial judge of the Basic Court in Kumanovo for an extension of the previously imposed detention measure against the accused.
