Two people were hospitalized after inhaling smoke while helping extinguish a fire at their neighbor’s house in the Lipkovo village of Matejce.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the incident was reported to the Kumanovo Police Department on May 29, 2026, at 1:28 p.m. The fire broke out in a house owned by M.S. and was extinguished by neighbors. During the intervention, A.S. (49) and N.S. (20) inhaled smoke and were transported to Kumanovo General Hospital.
The Regional Crisis Management Center reported that one house was destroyed in the fire. Five firefighters also took part in extinguishing the blaze between 1:25 p.m. and 2:25 p.m.
A separate fire was reported the same day at the stadium in the village of Opae, where an auxiliary building burned down.
Three firefighters responded to that incident between 1:55 p.m. and 2:25 p.m.
