A 13-year-old child from the village of Cherkezi near Kumanovo died on Wednesday evening following a collision between an electric scooter and a Mercedes passenger vehicle.
According to the Kumanovo Sector for Internal Affairs, the accident occurred at around 9:10 p.m. on May 28 on the regional road connecting Kumanovo and Skopje, in the village of Cherkezi.
The collision involved a Mercedes with Kumanovo registration plates driven by a 24-year-old man identified by the initials F.S. and an electric scooter operated by the 13-year-old boy.
Police said the minor was transported to Kumanovo General Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
The driver was detained by police at 9:20 p.m., according to the official statement.
The scene was inspected by a public prosecutor and a police investigation team from the Kumanovo Sector for Internal Affairs.
