An explosive device was found yesterday in the yard of a family home in Kumanovo after it failed to explode.
According to the Ministry of Interior, “On July 27, 2026, at 12:55 p.m., M.D. from Kumanovo reported to the Kumanovo Police Department that she had noticed an explosive device in the yard of her home on Bajram Šabani Street in Kumanovo,” the Ministry of Interior said.
Police said a crime scene investigation was carried out by officers from the Kumanovo Police Department, while the device was “safely removed by the Ministry of Interior’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit for further examination.”
According to unofficial information, the device was a hand grenade that had been activated but, fortunately, did not explode.
Police added that measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the case.
