A 24-year-old man from Kumanovo was arrested on Wednesday evening after police discovered several packages containing a white powdery substance in his vehicle.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrest was carried out at 7:10 p.m. on May 28 by officers from the Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures within the Border Affairs and Migration Department.
Police stopped a Fiat passenger vehicle with Kumanovo registration plates on the highway from the Tabanovce border crossing towards Kumanovo. The vehicle was driven by the suspect, identified by the initials M.I.
During the inspection, officers found several packages containing a white powdery substance inside the vehicle.
Further checks revealed that M.I. is currently serving a prison sentence and was on temporary leave at the time of the incident.
A public prosecutor was notified, and police said appropriate charges will be filed after the case is fully documented.
