Athletic Club Kumanovo has once again reached the top of Macedonian athletics after winning the Senior Cup competition held on May 16 and 17 at Toše Proeski National Arena in Skopje.

With a total of 1,030 points, the Kumanovo club convincingly secured first place in the overall standings, finishing well ahead of all rivals, with no other club surpassing the 800-point mark.

The title marks another major achievement for the club, which has now finished on the Senior Cup podium for 12 consecutive seasons. It is also the only athletics club in the country to have both men’s and women’s teams among the top three for six consecutive years.

During the past 12 seasons, Kumanovo athletes have won first place with one of their teams on nine occasions, while in four seasons they captured both trophies in the men’s and women’s competitions.

At this year’s Senior Cup, the men’s team comfortably won first place, while the women’s team finished second. After four consecutive women’s titles, the Kumanovo squad narrowly missed another championship by just three points despite competing with a significantly weakened lineup.

Club officials noted that the team was not as complete as last season and that several individual mistakes occurred during the competition. Nevertheless, they expressed great satisfaction with the results and rankings achieved. Their next objective will be improving personal best performances in upcoming events.

The women’s team included Tea Aleksovska, Sara Cvetanovska, Lina Anevska, Mia Golubovska and Enisa Tasevska.

The men’s squad consisted of Marjan Nojkovski, Daniel Josevski, Miloš Rančić, Emil Efremovski, Vedran Nikolovski, Mihail Stoševski and Mario Peševski.

A particularly significant aspect of the achievement is that the entire roster consists exclusively of athletes developed within the club and originating from Kumanovo. According to the club, this makes them the only team in the country over the last decade to consistently reach the podium with a squad built entirely from its own athletes.

The club congratulated all competitors and wished both its athletes and rival clubs continued success throughout the remainder of the season.
