Two Kumanovo Men Wanted on Warrants Arrested and Sent to Idrizovo Prison

Two men from Kumanovo wanted on active warrants were arrested on Tuesday evening after previously being sentenced to prison terms of seven and two years.

In the first case, police detained a 40-year-old man sentenced to serve the remainder of a seven-year prison sentence.

“On May 19, 2026, at 10:00 p.m., police officers from the Kumanovo Police Department arrested I.S. (40) from Kumanovo,” the Ministry of Interior said.

According to police, he had been sentenced to seven years in prison for the criminal offense of “robbery” under Article 237 of the Criminal Code and was wanted on a central warrant based on a court order to serve the remaining four years and seven months of his sentence.

In the second case, a 31-year-old man wanted to complete a two-year prison sentence was also arrested.

“On May 19, 2026, at 10:00 p.m., police officers from the Kumanovo Police Department arrested D.D. (31) from Kumanovo,” the Ministry added.

Police explained that he had been sentenced to two years in prison for the criminal offense of “aggravated theft” under Article 236 of the Criminal Code and was wanted on a central warrant to serve the remaining one year and six months of his sentence.

“Both individuals were transferred to the Idrizovo Correctional Facility to serve the remainder of their prison sentences,” the statement said.
