Two suspected illegal loggers were arrested yesterday afternoon in the Lipkovo area after authorities discovered firewood without the required documentation.
“On June 3, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the village of Runica, Municipality of Lipkovo, police officers from the Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures within the Border Affairs and Migration Department arrested F.Ć. (46) from the village of Lopate, Kumanovo region, and R.A. (51) from the village of Slupčane, Lipkovo,” the Ministry of Interior announced.
According to the police, while conducting patrol activities and official duties, officers stopped and inspected a Citroën cargo vehicle with Tetovo license plates driven by F.Ć., as well as a Fiat Ducato cargo vehicle without registration plates driven by R.A.
During the inspection, it was established that both vehicles were loaded with unmarked firewood without accompanying documentation.
The seized timber was handed over to the Economic Crime Unit of the Criminal Police Department at the Kumanovo Police Department, and after the case is fully documented, appropriate charges will be filed against both individuals.
