Government Extends Fuel Excise Reduction, Additional Fuel Discount Takes Effect Today

The government has decided to extend the measure reducing excise duties on petroleum products until June 15.

At the same time, following discussions with OKTA, the country’s largest fuel supplier, an additional discount of two denars per liter of fuel has been secured and comes into effect today, June 1.

According to government estimates, the combined measures are expected to reduce diesel prices by 6.5 denars per liter, while gasoline prices should decrease by around 1.5 denars per liter.

Government officials stated that the measures provide direct support to citizens, the transport sector, farmers and businesses.

According to the authorities, lower fuel prices will help reduce household and business costs while maintaining price stability amid global economic challenges.

“The Government remains committed to policies that bring tangible benefits to citizens and will continue to actively implement measures aimed at protecting living standards and strengthening economic security,” the statement said.
