Construction work is continuing on the full reconstruction of Moša Pijade Street in Kumanovo.

Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski said that work is currently underway on the construction of a stormwater drainage system along part of the street, as well as the installation of underground fiber-optic ducts for cable operators.

The reconstruction is being carried out in several phases. The Municipality of Kumanovo previously announced that the project includes a complete overhaul of the roadway, including the removal of the existing asphalt surface and curbs along almost the entire length and width of the street.

In the previous phase, the asphalt pavement was removed on the section from Piano Prestige to the end of Moša Pijade Street, where the sewage network was also replaced before work began on installing new sidewalk curbs.

The next phase continues on the section of the street leading toward the city center.

Due to the ongoing construction, traffic disruptions and restricted vehicle access are expected to continue.

The Municipality of Kumanovo is urging residents not to park their vehicles near active construction zones to ensure the safe and uninterrupted progress of the project.

The stormwater drainage and street reconstruction project is being financed by the World Bank through the Ministry of Transport of North Macedonia.
